Simplified optical ethernet
Overview
Tailored for campus networks in education, offices, and smart manufacturing, the SOE Solution leverages fiber-to-the-room (FTTR) deployment. By adopting CWDM Ethernet technology, it minimizes cabling costs between core equipment rooms and buildings. The solution ensures exclusive bandwidth and features all-passive devices in ELV rooms using passive CWDM technology. It supports centralized power supply at the access layer through hybrid cables and long-distance optical transmission via optical i-Share master APs, which separate optical and electrical ports to power optical micro APs. This design delivers a scalable, efficient, stable, and easy-to-maintain all-optical network across industries.
Challenges
Complex Scenarios & Poor Performance
In high-density environments, networks often experience lag and require device upgrades to support high wireless demands. With the increasing prevalence of technologies such as XR, VR, and video applications in mobile offices, the need for enhanced network performance is growing steadily.
Difficult Service Expansion
Traditional network architectures face challenges in flexibility, as Ethernet cables cannot be easily added. Additionally, high network construction costs and lengthy construction cycles significantly hinder network upgrades and expansions.
Challenges in Powering Terminals
Ensuring uninterrupted power supply (UPS) is a significant challenge, especially in older buildings with limited or inadequate power infrastructure. This limitation impacts devices like APs and cameras, leading to potential instability and reduced usability of network devices.
Onerous Network O&M
Devices in ELV rooms are often abundant, leading to unclear permissions, insufficient space, and potential electrical safety hazards. Additionally, network fault locating heavily depends on personal experience, resulting in extended fault recovery times and disrupted service continuity.
All-Optical Ethernet
The all-optical Ethernet architecture delivers ultra-high bandwidth via all-optical interconnection and 10 Gbps access. This setup meets the high bandwidth demands of diverse services, offering exceptional flexibility and scalability to accommodate increasing service requirements.
Innovative Integration of CWDM and Hybrid Cables
The SOE Solution uniquely combines CWDM, hybrid cables, and wireless technologies to deliver unified all-optical connections for wired and wireless devices. This enables passive, O&M-free ELV rooms in buildings. Additionally, hybrid cables facilitate long-distance transmission with centralized power supply at the access layer, overcoming the distance limitations of traditional Ethernet cables and simplifying deployment for greater efficiency.
Easy O&M
The SOE Solution leverages software-defined networking (SDN) to enable quick deployment and automated operation and maintenance of campus networks. With one-click approval, lightweight access control ensures fast and secure terminal access. Additionally, the solution provides network traffic visualization, rapid fault detection, and swift recovery of the production network through automated O&M processes.
